Daniel Thomas, carillonneur, aime le carillon, musique des cloches dans le ciel.
Il a fait un formation professionnelle musicale d’orgue à Lausanne et a suivi ensuite des cours de carillon à l’école de carillonneurs à Amersfoort en 1996-1998 (Hollande) et à Mechelen en 1999-2000 (Belgique).
Il est carillonneur titulaire à l‘église de Chantemerle à Pully (Lausanne) depuis 1999, carillon de 48 cloches, 4 octaves, depuis mai 2014.

Il a animé aussi avec de nombreux concerts en 2015 et 2016 le carillon de l’Abbaye de St-Maurice, 49 cloches. Il joue des concerts de carillon en Suisse et dans d’autres régions, comme en 2019, en Savoie, à Taninges, Annecy et aussi à Lyon ou en Belgique ou à Barcelone.
Il est membre du comité de la Guilde des Carillonneurs et Campanologues Suisses.
Il est en train de faire construire un carillon de 52 cloches à l’Abbaye de Montheron, un carillon très original pour jouer avec un jeu doux en intérieur (pour les cours et concerts en intérieur) et avec un jeu plus fort pour les concerts en extérieur.
Il participe aussi à un projet de nouveau carillon de quatre octaves ou plus dans la région du Jura à Moutier.
Il improvise au carillon et compose pour le carillon.

He trained as an organ musician in Lausanne and then took carillon lessons at the carillonneurs school in Amersfoort in 1996-1998 (Holland) and in Mechelen in 1999-2000 (Belgium). He is carillonneur at the Chantemerle church in Pully (Lausanne) since 1999, a carillon with 48 bells, 4 octaves.

He also animated with numerous concerts the carillon of the Abbey of St-Maurice, 49 bells. He plays carillon concerts in Switzerland and in other regions, such as in 2019, in Savoie, in Taninges, Annecy and also in Lyon or in Belgium or Barcelona. He is a member of the committee of the Guild of Carillonneurs et Campanologues Suisses.

He is in the process of building a carillon of 52 bells at the Abbey of Montheron, which will give carillon lessons, this carillon being intended to play with a soft game indoors (for lessons and concerts indoors) and with stronger playing for outdoor concerts. He is also participating in a new three-octave carillon project in the Jura region. He improvises and composes for the chime.
